About Me

I am a researcher specializing in contemporary Japanese cultural practices and identity formation, with particular expertise in how individuals negotiate authenticity and resistance in the digital age. My Master's research on Japanese women's beauty practices revealed how seemingly mundane acts carry profound cultural and political meanings, which has evolved into my current focus on how Japanese amateur art communities (doujin) resist generative AI-driven content. My work is grounded in rigorous Japanese language training, immersive research experience in Japan, and a professional background in cross-cultural digital media management.
